Submission Period Set to Open
The second annual Frame Moooi Award will be kicking off on 1 September 2012, beginning the search for the next designer to win a €25,000 grand prize.
The award was initiated in 2011 by international design magazine Frame and Dutch furniture and lighting brand Moooi. Combining the interests of both organizations, the Frame Moooi Award was launched to reward creators worldwide. The goal was – and remains – to unite innovative interiors with equally as inspiring furniture and lighting.
Thus, the award’s mission was born: to seek the best custom-created lamp or furnishing that has been designed for a specific interior.
An all-star juror (to be revealed in the coming weeks) will determine the top 10 finalists, who will unite in Milan during the 2013 Salone del Mobile for the finale party. Here, the grand prize winner will be announced – and walk away with the €25,000 cash prize.
The 2013 edition of the award will officially launch on 1 September with the opening of the online application system. Interior and product designers, architects and creatives worldwide will have until 1 December to submit entries. There’s just one more unique catch: to apply is totally free of charge. Projects must have been realized between 1 January, 2011, and 1 September, 2012. Products already in commercial production are also eligible.
