Give in to the arcane tendrils of our Indigo Hotto Room Fragrance. Let them transport you to quiet smoky rooms divided with translucent shoji screens.
Your eyes flutter open when you hear the hypnotising sounds of a ‘kokyū’ string instrument. You realise you’re standing still. That means you’ve reached your destination. Stepping out of your ‘kago’ you see a calm and endless sea stretching out. On your right hand is a cottage. The wooden structure and curved roof reveal it’s a Minka. It houses the alluring musical sounds that woke you. The scents of ylang ylang, sandalwood and vetiver hang heavy in the air, luring you in towards the elegant cottage.
The left side of the double doors holds an engraving so subtle you almost miss it. Swirling letters surrounded by sharp-looking flowers. You translate the elegant calligraphy to ‘Indigo Hotto’. Not quite understanding what it means, you take off your shoes, open the doors of the Minka, and walk inside.
A crackling fire and tendrils of heady smoke welcome you. It’s warm and dark. The midnight blue space is divided with translucent shoji screens for privacy. You take place on the soft tatami flooring. Sitting cross-legged, you close your eyes and take a deep breath. In and out, in and out. Your shoulders relax and you feel content as you surrender to a boozy state of mind infused with clove spiced rum and vanilla musk.
