Friso Kramer (1922–2019) was one of the most influential Dutch designers of the twentieth century. His work left a lasting impact on the international design world, with functionality, timelessness, and simplicity at its core. Kramer’s designs are practical, innovative, and enduring. They remain relevant across generations, long after their first introduction.&nbsp;

Born in Amsterdam as the son of architect Piet Kramer, Friso began experimenting with materials and techniques at an early age. He studied interior architecture at the Institute for Applied Arts in Amsterdam, where, under the guidance of Mart Stam, he developed his passion for industrial design.&nbsp;

In 1948, Kramer joined steel furniture manufacturer De Cirkel (Ahrend), where he later became Art Director. Among his most successful designs for the company was the Revolt chair (1953). Crafted from conventional sheet metal, it became an icon of Dutch postwar design.&nbsp;
