Whoever sets eyes on the Meshmatics Chandelier will never guess what hides behind its sophisticated appearance. Rick Tegelaar elevated the nature of humble wire netting by developing a machine and a set of tools to model it with accuracy. The full potential of this thin and flexible material is stretched and captured within three layers of beauty.

Rick Tegelaar (Rotterdam, 1986) graduated with honours from the ArtEZ Arnhem product design department in 2011. Since then he works independently from his studio and workshop in Arnhem.

As a material-oriented designer, Rick’s work is characterized by the use of very uncommon materials, finding new beautifully shaped forms with an innovative approach.

Rick is interested in machinery and mechanical processes since childhood. This fascination for engineering, combined with his delicate sense of esthetics, are reflected in his designs, which shed a new light on undervalued materials and existing techniques.&nbsp;

“I’ve always gotten a lot of satisfaction out of the processes of making something. When I was a kid I was always playing with technical Lego. Even now, I sometimes use Lego for making a scale model. I’m a designer who combines thinking and doing for developing new designs.”

Control the mood with ease. This light fixture can be dimmed using an external Electronic Low Voltage dimmer. Simply connect it to an existing outlet—no need to rewire your home.

Choose a dimmer designed for LED lights, suitable for 5 watts or lower, and supporting a C-type (capacitive load). This ensures compatibility and smooth operation.

As with all delicate lighting, the experience of dimming may occasionally bring a flicker, hum, or soft buzz.

What is included: 
Our partner electricians cover standard installation of one Moooi light, including a call-out fee, parking costs, labor for standard ceiling heights, and any small materials needed. We also handle placement of the Wireless Wall Switch and a phase dimmer, if purchased separately. 
 
A trusted network of electricians: 
Save time searching—our curated list of professionals ensures quality work by electricians experienced with Moooi products. 
 
Transparent pricing: 
With a fixed-price structure, enjoy peace of mind and market-compliant rates, free from surprises. 
 
If you need multiple lights installed, simply add an additional lighting installation to your basket for each extra light. The pricing for additional installations is as follows: €75 for the second light, €50 for the third, €45 for the fourth, and €40 for the fifth and each subsequent light. 
 
Please note: This service excludes relocation of fixtures, scaffolding rental, connection to smart home systems, and additional electrical work outside the scope of your Moooi installation. See our Terms and Conditions.
