Simone Bonanni was born in Pordenone, Italy, 1989. He studied Industrial Design at Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan where he graduated with Honours in 2011. In 2012, he left Milan and joined Marcel Wanders Studio in Amsterdam where he worked as product designer and project leader for 3 years. Bonanni moved back to Italy in 2015, where he founded Simone Bonanni Studio in Milan. From 2015, he teaches Product Design and lecturing at IED Istituto Europeo di Design and IED Master in Milan.

Simone Bonanni Studio (SBS) specialises in product design and limited editions, exploring creativity and embracing new perspectives. SBS believes that aesthetics should result from not only personal taste but also from a deep understanding of object essence, context, function, and meaning. These elements find innovative ways to coexist, and each project receives dedicated attention. The studio strives to create a connection between their work and the user that is initially effective and subsequently tangible.

SBS recognises the communicative power of objects, viewing them as “emotional activators.” Rather than focusing solely on technical aspects, the studio now prioritises evoking emotions through design. This shift allows SBS to emphasise the perceptual experience over physical attributes.
