Moooi is proud to announce the opening of its first‑ever store in China, located in Shanghai. The new store marks a significant milestone in the brand’s global journey, bringing the full expression of Moooi’s world –from furniture and lighting to carpets, wallcoverings, bedding and beyond to one of the world’s most culturally vibrant cities.

Set within the iconic Blackstone Building, a 1924 Baroque-style landmark in Shanghai's former French Concession, Moooi Store Shanghai creates a beautiful juxtaposition between past and present.
Ornate architectural details and old stone walls set the stage for the brand’s contemporary, imaginative designs, while the surrounding neighbourhood, long celebrated for its art, music and cultural life, lends the space anatural rhythm. Like a carefully composed piece of music, the store moves between spectacle and intimacy, inviting visitors to explore at their own tempo. The store is operated by Ansel Home, Moooi’s trusted partner in the region, and is designed to become a new destination for design lovers, architects and creatives alike.

The interior of Moooi Shanghai is designed as the only space in the region where the full Moooi offering can be experienced under one roof. An impressive and industry-renowned display of lighting acts as a central visual moment, showcasing Moooi’s mastery of atmosphere and innovation through light.

Throughout the store, visitors will discover some of Moooi’s most iconic designs, including Hortensia Armchair, Horse Lamp and Raimond lights, alongside the brand’s complete lifestyle offering. Curated home-like settings are dotted throughout the space, presenting Moooi designs as lived-in compositions and inviting visitors to imagine how these pieces come together in everyday life.

To celebrate the opening, Moooi presents a special launch installation with fashion designer Susan Fang. Titled Digital Gardens, the carpet collection transforms coded ASCII characters into lush botanical landscapes, blurring the boundaries between technology and nature. Created in collaboration with industrial designer Orelio De Jonghe, the text-based designs become, from a distance, flowers, foliage, and flowing colour gradients—resulting in carpets that feel as though they have naturally grown. The installation will be on view during the launch period.

ABOUT SUSAN FANG
SUSAN FANG is an internationally acclaimed womenswear brand founded by designer Susan Fang. Shaped by her multicultural upbringing across China, Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, the brand explores beauty as a universal language connecting humanity, nature and emotion.

A Central Saint Martins graduate, Fang established her label in 2017 and is known forher ethereal design language defined by innovative textiles, mathematical precisionand poetic storytelling. Recognised by Forbes 30 Under 30, the BoF 500, and the LVMH Prize shortlist, SUSAN FANG continues to redefine contemporary fashion through afusion of craft, technology, culture and emotional connection.

Orelio De Jonghe is a former Senior Industrial Designer at Dyson, where he focused onwearable design and contributed to the development of the brand’s latest air purifier. Together, Susan and Orelio have collaborated on projects for Apple, Nike, and other leading brands.
